    <p class="font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]">ICON is hiring a UX professional to own the user experience for a core product area within BuildOS - our software platform used by architects, builders, and construction operators. In this role, you will lead end-to-end UX work for tools that connect users to ICON's construction technology, from discovery research through design handoff. You will run customer interviews, map complex workflows, build prototypes, test them with real users, and write specs that engineering can build from. You will work alongside engineers, product leadership, and internal and external customers to shape what gets built and why. This role is based at ICON's Austin, TX office and reports to the Director of Product.<br><br></p> <p class="font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]"><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p> <p class="font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]"><strong>Discovery and Research:</strong> Run regular interviews with architects, engineers, and builders to learn their workflows, pain points, and unmet needs. Document assumptions, evidence gaps, and research priorities for your product area. Turn findings into clear insights that shape the roadmap.</p> <p class="font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]"><strong>Workflow Mapping and UX Design:</strong> Map user workflows and edge cases for complex, multi-step construction and design processes. Design for a range of users, from technical specialists to first-time operators with different levels of software fluency. Define data needs, integration points, and error states.</p> <p class="font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]"><strong>Wireframes and Prototypes:</strong> Create wireframes, interaction flows, and interactive prototypes in Figma or a similar tool. Deliver designs that are functional, polished, and clear.</p> <p class="font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]"><strong>Prototyping and Usability Testing:</strong> Build and test prototypes with target users on a regular cadence. Run lightweight usability tests and update designs based on real feedback. Check designs with engineering for technical feasibility before handoff.</p> <p class="font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]"><strong>Handoff and Engineering Collaboration:</strong> Deliver developer-ready specs with annotated designs, acceptance criteria, and interaction details.
