We believe our delivery partners deserve world-class technology that makes their work safer, simpler, and more rewarding.

We are looking for a hands-on engineering leader to own and evolve the **on-road delivery experience** for TransporterX — the workflows, guidance, and intelligence that get a delivery partner accurately and efficiently from stop to stop. This is a manager-of-managers role leading a mature, globally distributed organization, and it demands a leader who sees themselves as an accelerator: eliminating in-the-moment friction for delivery partners worldwide and enabling the org to ship value to the road faster than ever before.

This group has built a rich portfolio of **ML models — including on-device ML** that runs in the hands of delivery partners in real time. This leader will continue to grow and deepen that capability. The team is also an **extensive adopter of agentic AI**, both in the product experience and in how the software itself is built.

Key job responsibilities
• **Hands-On Org Leadership:** Lead from the front as a manager of managers. Own the architecture, reliability, and performance of the on-road delivery experience — including delivery execution and secure deliveries — used by hundreds of thousands of delivery partners daily across iOS and Android.
• **Own the On-Road Delivery Charter:** Set the technical vision and multi-year roadmap for your space. Eliminate the need for delivery partners to make manual, in-the-moment decisions, delivering accurate, context-aware guidance that balances delivery quality with transporter efficiency.
• **Grow ML & On-Device Intelligence:** Push the boundary of what intelligence can run at the edge to reduce cognitive load for delivery partners.
• AI-Powered Software Delivery: Champion AI-native development practices that dramatically compress the time between an idea and value reaching a driver's hands.
• Operational Excellence: Set the bar for app stability, crash rates, and quality.
• Team Building: Attract, develop, and inspire a team of talented mobile engineers. Foster a culture of technical depth, ownership, and customer obsession for the delivery partner.
• Cost & Efficiency: Drive infrastructure and messaging cost optimization while maintaining or improving the transporter experience.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure application adherence to security, privacy, and operational standards across all regions.

About the team
The Transporter Experience Technology organization builds the mobile app that hundreds of thousands of delivery partners rely on every day — guiding them from station check-in to final delivery. We own the end-to-end mobile platform (iOS & Android), on-road experience, communication systems, and developer tooling across 20+ countries. We're a globally distributed team spanning the US, Canada, and India, operating at the intersection of mobile engineering, AI-powered development, and logistics at massive scale. We care deeply about the people who use our technology and measure success by how much simpler, faster, and safer we make their work.

Every AWS workshop, GameDay, or any other kind of hands-on event a customer touches starts as content that someone has to create, ensure it is safe and high-quality, and then find a way deliver at scale. This role owns that entire lifecycle. Workshop Studio is the service the AWS Tech Field uses to give customers hands-on experience with AWS, powering ~97% of hands-on sessions at re:Invent and the global Summit series. In 2025 alone, the Field ran nearly 50,000 events globally, reaching over 710,000 participants. Behind the platform sits one of the largest fleets of AWS accounts on the planet, along with a Gen AI content scanner handling over a million quality and security scans a month before content ever reaches a customer.

We are looking for a Senior Software Development Manager to own content quality and delivery end-to-end. This is a manager-of-managers role leading several distinct teams, each with its own area of focus: the engineering teams behind Workshop Studio, spanning content authoring and publishing, event creation and delivery, and the underlying AWS account fleet operations; the team that builds the Gen AI content scanner that evaluates content for quality and security, scaling review processes without adding human reviewers; and a content quality program that ties these together, defining what the quality bar is, partnering with business leaders across their domains to identify top-performing content, and setting the strategy for how that content is scaled and through which channels. Together they own how technical content is created, how its quality and security bar is enforced, and how it is delivered to customers, including self-service, hands-on experiences in Amazon Builder Center, AWS's primary customer-facing community engagement platform. Because you own the full lifecycle rather than a single piece of it, you have the autonomy and agency to define the North Star and charter for this business and build a cohesive strategy across all of your teams.

Our ideal candidate is passionate about owning large-scale, always-on services and building leaders. You are equally comfortable setting a multi-year vision and diving into the operational reality of a service thousands of Solutions Architects and AWS customers depend on daily. Gen AI runs throughout this space, and there are several areas of active investment. Human review alone cannot keep pace with the volume of content moving through these systems, so Gen AI does the heavy lifting of evaluating quality and in the fullness of time, security, at scale. We are automating event support to shorten response times and put resolution directly in the hands of event operators. We are also investing in content generation to make high-quality content easier to produce, which in turn streamlines the review it has to pass. For a leader looking to deepen their team's AI impact on a critical, high-visibility service, there is significant room to invest and grow.

Key job responsibilities
- Own the content quality & delivery charter: Own the North Star for a business that spans content creation, quality/security validation, and delivery. Working with your product management partners, set the technical vision and multi-year roadmap for a lifecycle you own from end to end.
- Lead a multi-team organization: Lead multiple engineering and program teams, coaching managers, setting engineering standards, and driving delivery against organizational goals.
- Scale content quality with Gen AI: Invest in the systems and programs that keep quality and security scaling with content volume rather than headcount, moving review upstream into content creators' pipelines.
- Deliver at scale: Own the reliability and delivery of hands-on experiences across major AWS events and expanding self-service channels like Amazon Builder Center, Amazon Marketplace, etc.
- Operational excellence: Set the bar for availability, quality, and security across services thousands of Solutions Architects and hundreds of thousands of customers depend on.
- Partner across AWS: Align your teams' work to the broader organizational strategy and adjacent initiatives, and drive resolution across organizational boundaries.
- Build the team: Attract, develop, and inspire engineers and engineering leaders, fostering a culture of ownership, technical depth, and customer obsession.

About the team
STT Tech Engineering owns the programs and tools that help SMGS scale and achieve its mission. Our portfolio includes internal platforms such as Workshop Studio, Holmes, and Alchemy, and more recently AWS Specialist Agent, alongside a growing suite of agents and Gen AI tools. Together they form an ecosystem that augments the field through learning and enablement. We serve not only the Specialist Organization (WWSO) but a range of other technical organizations, including AWS Training & Certification, ProServe, and AWS Support. We are looking for people who are excited to push the boundaries of what is possible and help the field scale.

About AWS
Diverse Experiences
AWS values diverse experiences. Even if you do not meet all of the preferred qualifications and skills listed in the job description, we encourage candidates to apply. If your career is just starting, hasn’t followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences, don’t let it stop you from applying.

Why AWS?
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. We pioneered cloud computing and never stopped innovating — that’s why customers from the most successful startups to Global 500 companies trust our robust suite of products and services to power their businesses.

Inclusive Team Culture
Here at AWS, it’s in our nature to learn and be curious. Our employee-led affinity groups foster a culture of inclusion that empower us to be proud of our differences. Ongoing events and learning experiences, including our Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon (gender diversity) conferences, inspire us to never stop embracing our uniqueness.

Mentorship & Career Growth
We’re continuously raising our performance bar as we strive to become Earth’s Best Employer. That’s why you’ll find endless knowledge-sharing, mentorship and other career-advancing resources here to help you develop into a better-rounded professional.

Work/Life Balance
We value work-life harmony. Achieving success at work should never come at the expense of sacrifices at home, which is why we strive for flexibility as part of our working culture. When we feel supported in the workplace and at home, there’s nothing we can’t achieve in the cloud.
