Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Jobs and Careers platform, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by Jobs and Careers Ltd ("Jobs and Careers", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.


1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Jobs and Careers, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any additional guidelines or policies we publish. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Jobs and Careers Ltd. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use of the Service after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use Jobs and Careers. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 18 years old;
  • You are a human individual (not an automated system or bot);
  • You have full legal capacity to enter into this agreement;
  • You are using the Service for legitimate employment-seeking or hiring purposes;
  • Your use of the Service does not violate any applicable law or regulation in your jurisdiction.

Jobs and Careers reserves the right to verify eligibility and to suspend or terminate accounts that do not meet these requirements.

3. Account Registration and Security

To access most features of Jobs and Careers, you must register for an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration;
  • Maintain the accuracy of your account information;
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials and not share them with any third party;
  • Immediately notify us of any unauthorised access to or use of your account;
  • Not create more than one account without our prior written permission;
  • Not create an account if you have previously been suspended or banned from the Service.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not you authorised it. Jobs and Careers will not be liable for any loss resulting from unauthorised use of your account.

4. Candidate Terms

As a candidate using Jobs and Careers to seek employment, you additionally agree to the following:

Accuracy of Information

You warrant that all information provided in your profile, CV, and application materials is accurate, truthful, and not misleading. Misrepresentation of qualifications, employment history, skills, or any other material information constitutes a serious breach of these Terms and may result in immediate account termination.

No Misrepresentation

You must not claim qualifications, credentials, or experience you do not hold. You must not submit applications on behalf of another person. You must not use AI-generated content in application materials in a way that misrepresents the content as entirely your own original work where that could constitute material misrepresentation (see Section 6 regarding AI features).

Human Touch Requirement

While Jobs and Careers AI tools (including JAC) may assist with application preparation, you are personally responsible for reviewing, editing, and submitting all application materials. You must not use automated systems to submit applications without human review. Automated bulk application using scripts, bots, or third-party tools is prohibited.

5. Employer Terms

As an employer using Jobs and Careers to hire candidates, you additionally agree to:

Legitimate Job Postings

All job listings posted on Jobs and Careers must represent genuine, currently open employment opportunities. You must not post fictitious roles, roles primarily intended for data collection, or roles that discriminate on protected characteristics. Job descriptions must accurately represent the role, requirements, compensation range, and working arrangements.

Reply SLA Obligations

By posting a job listing on Jobs and Careers, you commit to responding to candidate applications within 48 hours of receipt during your business operating hours. Failure to maintain this SLA may result in reduced listing visibility, suspension of posting privileges, or termination of your employer account. Specific SLA terms are detailed in your employer agreement.

Non-Discrimination

You must conduct all hiring activities in compliance with applicable employment law, including the Equality Act 2010 (UK), relevant EU equality directives, and US federal and state anti-discrimination laws. You must not use candidate data accessed through Jobs and Careers to discriminate on the basis of any protected characteristic.

Data Handling

Candidate data accessed through the platform may only be used for the purpose of evaluating candidates for roles posted on Jobs and Careers. You must not share, sell, or use candidate data for any other purpose without explicit consent.

6. JAC and AI Features

Jobs and Careers offers AI-powered features including JAC, which generates application materials, company research, interview preparation, and other content to assist candidates. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI-generated outputs are suggestions only and do not constitute advice (legal, career, financial, or otherwise);
  • You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying any AI-generated content before use;
  • Jobs and Careers does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content for any particular purpose;
  • AI-generated application materials may contain errors, outdated information, or inaccuracies that you must identify and correct;
  • Use of AI assistance does not reduce your personal responsibility for the accuracy and honesty of application materials you submit to employers.

7. Verification Services

Jobs and Careers offers optional identity and credential verification services through accredited third-party providers. You acknowledge that:

  • Verification requires your explicit consent and involves processing of identity documents and potentially biometric data;
  • Verification outcomes are provided on a reasonable-efforts basis and Jobs and Careers makes no warranties as to accuracy of verification results;
  • A verified Trust Score indicates only that verification was completed — it does not constitute an endorsement of your suitability for any role;
  • Employers may give weight to verification status in hiring decisions, but Jobs and Careers has no liability for hiring decisions made by employers;
  • You retain the right to withdraw consent for verification at any time, subject to our data retention obligations.

8. Subscription and Billing

Jobs and Careers offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are subject to the following terms:

  • Payment: All payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorise Jobs and Careers to charge the payment method you provide on a recurring basis according to your selected billing period.
  • Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until then.
  • Refunds: We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for new paid subscriptions. After 14 days, subscription payments are non-refundable except as required by applicable consumer law. Contact billing@jobsandcareers.co to request a refund.
  • Price changes: We will give at least 30 days' notice of any price increases. Your subscription continues at the current price until the notice period expires.
  • Failed payments: If a payment fails, we will make reasonable attempts to collect payment. After 7 days of failed payment, access to paid features may be suspended.

9. Prohibited Uses

You must not use Jobs and Careers to:

  • Send unsolicited commercial communications (spam);
  • Create fake, inaccurate, or misleading profiles;
  • Impersonate any person or organisation;
  • Harvest, scrape, or collect data from the platform using automated means without our prior written consent;
  • Discriminate against candidates or employers on the basis of protected characteristics;
  • Engage in or facilitate any fraudulent, deceptive, or illegal activity;
  • Post job listings for illegitimate purposes, pyramid schemes, or multi-level marketing;
  • Introduce malware, viruses, or malicious code;
  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any security measures;
  • Use the platform in a way that could impair its performance or integrity;
  • Re-sell or sublicense access to the platform without our written permission.

Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination, and may be reported to appropriate authorities.

10. Content Ownership

Your content: You retain all intellectual property rights in content you submit to Jobs and Careers, including your CV, profile information, cover letters, and other application materials ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant Jobs and Careers a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, store, and process that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

Platform content: Jobs and Careers owns all intellectual property rights in the platform, including its design, software, features, AI models, and non-user content. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the platform without our written permission.

AI-generated content: Content generated by JAC using your inputs is licensed to you for personal use. Ownership of AI-generated content depends on applicable law, which varies by jurisdiction. Where AI-generated content incorporates your personal information or existing User Content, you retain rights over those elements.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Jobs and Careers provides the Service "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied;
  • Jobs and Careers is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of earnings, loss of data, or business interruption;
  • Jobs and Careers' total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim or (b) £100;
  • Jobs and Careers is not responsible for hiring decisions made by employers, or for the accuracy of job listings, employer representations, or third-party content on the platform;
  • Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

12. Dispute Resolution

Informal resolution: Before initiating formal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at legal@jobsandcareers.co and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

UK and EEA users: These Terms and any dispute arising from them shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales. Subject to the informal resolution requirement, disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in these Terms affects your rights as a consumer under applicable mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence.

US users: Disputes that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), except that either party may bring claims in small claims court for disputes within the applicable jurisdictional threshold. Class action and class-wide arbitration are waived to the fullest extent permitted by law.

13. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via email to your registered address and a prominent notice on the platform. Your continued use of the Service after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service before they take effect. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.
