Essential Functions

  • Serves as the statewide Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs (IDVA) Vehicle Coordinator, responsible for a motor vehicle fleet in excess of 100 Vehicles, Serves as Fleet Management System (FMS) Coordinator
  • Serves as liaison between Department Central Management Services Risk Management, Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs, and other insurance companies
  • Serves as backup to the Travel and Telecom Coordinators in their absence
  • Resolves and finalizes accident claims
  • Maintains records on all transactions
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration
  • Requires one (1) year of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program

Specialized Skills

  • Of the one year of required experience, requires one (1) year of Fleet Management System (FMS) experience; submitting, approving, and finalizing Automotive Cost Reports (ACRs), and one (1) year experience in utilizing Illinois Motor Vehicle Codes and Illinois Traffic laws and vehicular claim processing with insurance companies to resolve and finalize accident claims

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of experience utilizing a Fleet Management System (FMS) to manage data
  • One (1) year of experience submitting, approving, and finalizing Automotive Cost Reports (ACRs) in a private or public organization
  • One (1) year of experience in utilizing a states motor vehicle codes and traffic laws, applicable to vehicular claim processing with insurance companies to resolve and finalize accident claims
  • One (1) year of experience in the functions of state government, and of the character of relationships between the executive branch with the other branches, and between the State, and higher and lower levels of government
  • One (1) year of experience in developing, installing, and evaluating new and revised methods, procedures, and performance standards
