Job Summary:The LTAP Regional Training Specialist is responsible for implementing, directing, and conducting both scheduled and on-demand training programs to meet the needs of the organization. Key duties include assisting to determine course content based on program objectives, developing, modifying, updating, and evaluating transportation technical transfer curriculum, and assessing the effectiveness of training programs. The specialist will also assist in the development of new LTAP programs. This position requires regular travel across the state to deliver training and provide technical assistance to local governments.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:Implement, direct, and conduct scheduled and on-demand training programs to meet organizational needs, with travel required to deliver training at various locations across the state.
Support the development of new LTAP programs and initiatives. Provide ongoing technical assistance and conduct regular site visits and needs assessments for local governments.
Assists in development, modifying , updating, and evaluating Local Technical Assistance Program technical training curriculum.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):Knowledge of:
• Transportation safety, work zone safety, and other transportation related areas
• Working knowledge in Google Workspace
• Adult Learning techniques
Skill in:
• Outstanding verbal and non-verbal communication skills and comfortable speaking to crowds
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Developing training materials
Ability to:
• Operate a computer
• Address training needs
• Deliver in person and virtual training
Work zone experience and background in construction and/or transportation.
3-5 years of experience in adult learning or technical development.
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.
Traffic Control Instructor Certification or ability to obtain it within six (6) months of hire.
This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
