Senior Lead Architect V – TKR

Wood is currently seeking candidates for Senior Industrial Architect with design and production experience in industrial, chemical, energy, and paper markets. Primary focus for project work will be to prepare construction drawings, develop specifications and assess existing facilities for new and/or retrofit industrial plants.
This position primarily provides architectural design leadership on detail design projects. In this position, the position directs architectural design from conceptual studies, feasibility analysis, construction grade scope and estimates, detailed design, and construction field support. Looking to hire for Tucker (Atlanta), GA office location.
Hybrid and or Remote work options are available with this position.
- Performs various tasks in each of the three project phases: Design Development; Construction Documents; Construction Administration
- Daily activities include problem-solving on both large projects and small consultations for project managers and other disciplines.
- Provides a wide range of ground-level architectural services while maintaining a sense of urgency and prioritization of tasks.
- Participates and coordinates the preparation and quality of contract documents, including drawings and specifications.
- Responsible to review and rectify the design related to all applicable Codes and produce documents including Life-Safety, Egress, and General Code Compliance drawings and narratives.
- Coordinates multiple-discipline overlays, construction techniques, and sequences.
- Effectively addresses problems and questions as they occur during construction.
- Writes reports such as feasibility studies, design criteria, and material recommendations.
- Responsible for coordination of all aspects of other disciplines as they affect the building envelope and interior.
- The candidate will follow projects through approvals and construction.
- Bachelors of Arts in Architecture (5 year program) or Masters of Architecture
- Minimum 8 to 10 years experience
- NCARB certification
- Project management experience is desired.
- Permitting experience is desired.
- Advanced Working knowledge with the latest releases of architectural software:
- AutoCAD
- Revit
- Navisworks
- BIM 360
- Specifications Experience - SpecLink Cloud preferred.
