Senior Space Systems Project Engineer, Satellite Ground Software

<p><strong>Your impact</strong></p> <p>You will be part of a team who monitor satellite programs, interfacing directly with the satellite manufacturer and represent Intelsat at the manufacturer’s facility.  You will be support the ground software program monitoring and coordination with Intelsat operations and software teams in order to advance the ground software component of Intelsat’s Next Generation Software Defined Network. You will apply your technical skills in software development to help internal and external software teams to develop the ground software needed to configure, operate and monitor the Payload of Software Defined Satellites. </p> <p><strong>What you will do </strong></p> <ul> <li>Follow ground software and deliverable development to ensure overall schedule is followed and in compliance with technical exhibits.</li> <li>Support Space-Ground interface development, test and requirement verification.</li> <li>Participate in satellite design review, test campaign and data review.</li> <li>Support in data models definition, API definitions.</li> <li>Contribute to API definition and API testing using Postman.</li> <li>Coordinate technical workshops with satellite manufacturer ground software team and Intelsat software development team.</li> <li>Support the end-to-end consistency analysis between Flight Operational Procedures and ground SW generated parameters.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Your required experience/skills</strong>  </p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.</li> <li>3 years of recent, relevant work experience.</li> <li>Strong knowledge in project/program management, including schedule, risk management.</li> <li>The ability to work independently as part of a field office involved with continuous interface with customers, contractors and subcontractors.</li> <li>Working knowledge of Postman, API, SW architecture, CRUD operations, Micro service, Kubernetes, Data base.</li> <li>Proficiency in microservices and Agile development methodology.</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written command of the English language.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Your success in this role will look like: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop and maintain trusting and collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders and external parties e.g. manufacturer.</li> <li>Successfully collaborate cross-functionally as part of a team to deliver on a complex program while retaining a positive attitude .</li> </ul> <p><strong>It would be nice if you had: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of satellite design, machine to machine communication, network communications, or other complex systems is a plus.</li> <li>Experience in working with contractor or vendor management.</li> </ul> <p><strong>How we support you: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Hybrid work environment offering up to two days per week work from home (for eligible positions)</li> <li>Development opportunities supporting professional growth championed by our dedicated Learning &amp; Development team. 20-25% of our positions are hired internally!</li> <li>Ways to get involved: satellite launch parties, company connect events, charitable activities, team social events, recognition programs, and employee resource groups.</li> <li>Wide range of benefits and perks to help you stay healthy, happy, and productive.
