About the role:

The Manager of Finance Systems will partner with the Finance organization at Samsara to build world-class financial forecasting, planning, reporting and analysis capabilities. The person in this role will own the management, configuration/development, and operations support of systems such as Workday Adaptive Planning. The candidate is accountable for full lifecycle development that entails the analysis, design and development of tool capabilities in addition to proactively identifying enhancement opportunities to the systems. The candidate will understand, interpret and transform business problems, opportunities and requirements while recommending solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.

This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US except Alaska, Austin metro, California, Chicago metro, Connecticut, Dallas metro, Denver metro, Houston metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, and Washington DC metro. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.

In this role, you will: 

  • Develop, build, deliver and maintain innovative and collaborative planning models on the Workday Adaptive Planning platform to support/automate existing processes, new goals and initiatives across numerous facets and functions of the business
  • Partner with FP&A and cross-functional teams to develop roadmaps, identify needs, understand existing models (Microsoft Excel and Adaptive), and translate them into efficiently built and enhanced Adaptive or other technology solutions
  • Oversee data flows and development of integrations between our internal systems (Netsuite, Salesforce, Workday) and Adaptive to ensure data is timely and accurate
  • Prepare clear and concise presentations, providing recommendations to senior management and executives
  • Formalize best practices in model building, document processes and provide coaching/training to end users
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
  • Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, Finance/Accounting or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience operating and maintaining financial systems like Adaptive, Anaplan, Oracle, Netsuite inc
