About the role

We are looking for a Director for the Corporate Finance Mid-Market (CFMM) department, a unit of ING Business Banking NL. CFMM is the team that provides corporate finance (M&A) advice to ING’s customers for transactions worth between €15 and €250 million. The CFMM team consists of 15 people concentrating purely on M&A advice on purchase and sales transactions in the mid-market segment with a specific focus on director/majority shareholders.

Role & Responsibilities

The director we are looking for is an experienced dealmaker and knows how to engage with ING customers strategically. You land new contracts through your own network and the ING network. The director has a long track record that confers natural authority and is able to adjust M&A processes at the right points in time. You also manage several transaction processes simultaneously.

You are expected to enthuse, train and coach ING colleagues in strategic partnerships. You are responsible for the flawless implementation of M&A projects. You are a specialist who shares your knowledge with other team members. As director, you are expected to develop the team further. You must be a team player who can challenge and inspire all team members.

The Team

CFMM is part of Lending & Event Finance (‘LEF’) at ING Business Banking NL. Event Finance focuses purely on event-driven advice and financing. CFMM also works closely together within ING’s global Corporate Finance network. You will work together intensively in deal teams of highly qualified colleagues with plenty of space for your own initiative and commercial responsibility.

How to succeed

You are an enterprising, energetic and ambitious professional with a strong track record in M&A. You also identify with the following profile:

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in the field of M&A advisory or private equity;
  • proven dealmaker with a strong track record, a wide network and demonstrable commercial experience;
  • affinity with director/majority shareholders and family firms in the Dutch mid-market;
  • an excellent command of spoken and written Dutch and English;
  • a team player, inspirational, communicative, stress-resistant, entrepreneurial and hands-on.
