About This Role

The Sr. Manager will report directly to the Associate Director, Operational Accounting based in Syracuse, New York and is part of the HVAC Segment Controllership team. This part-time position is 25 hours a week and will support the monthly financial closing processes with an additional emphasis on balance sheet reconciliations/analysis and key strategic projects impacting operational accounting. The Sr. Manager will be a trusted individual contributor with development opportunities within Carrier’s global organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the month-end financial statement closing process including assisting team members throughout their duties including preparing/reviewing journal entries

• Prepare/review of month-end account reconciliations

• Analysis of key balance sheet accounts and reserves

• Support RTR (Record to Report) processes/initiatives

• Assist with SOX and internal/external audit requests

• Actively participate in key cross-functional strategic projects as requested

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree

• 8+ years of accounting/finance experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred

• Master’s degree in Accounting preferred

• CPA preferred

• Experience with SAP and HFM preferred

• Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

• Self-driven with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)

• Exceptional customer service skills including follow-up and follow-through
