Raytheon Field Engineering is hiring a Principal Field Service Specialist at Offutt Air Force Base to support Command and Control Switching Systems (CCSS). A successful candidate will be self-confident and resourceful; able to accept ownership for effectively solving customer issues, complaints, and inquiries; keeping customer satisfaction at the core of every decision and behavior; maintain a high energy level with the ability to fit dynamically into the team.

What You Will Do

  • Work independently in a customer support role to provide on-site Engineering and Technical Assistance Services on a routine basis.
  • Identify customers’ needs, clarify information, explain procedures, answer questions, research every issue and provide solutions and/or alternatives.
  • Document field issues for replication and maintain records for later analysis and coordinate with other departments who will be affected.
  • Work with other engineering disciplines and subject matter experts to resolve issues.

What You Will Learn

  • Maintaining focus and adaptability by engaging with customers with different personalities through written and verbal communication.
  • Following installation/instruction guides and perform various troubleshooting techniques.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience. Experience in lieu of education option.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • 5+ years’ experience with Networking or Switching systems.
  • Experience with DSS-2A switch operation, programming and system integration within the DRSN.
  • Experience with performing Software and Firmware upgrades on Windows, Linux, and VxWorks.
  • Experience in utilizing the Microsoft Office suite, including advanced skills in Visio and OneNote.
  • Experience in operating cable production equipment and utilizing specialty tools.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Familiarity with DISA’s Juniper IP Network and Circuit-To-Packet (CTP) devices, including dedicated and bulk encryption, as well as experience with Internet Protocol (IP) switching.
  • Experience in reading, interpreting, and executing statements of work, drawing packages, wiring diagrams, floor plans, technical documentation, directives, and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, set priorities, and manage time effectively.

This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSACAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
