Position Summary:

The Program Manager will have a critical role in the company’s effort to advance early-stage program/s from Research to Development, including IND submission and clinical development. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing plans and execute on deliverables and milestones. He/she/they will partner with the program leaders to rapidly advance research project/s and manage cross functional program team/s comprised of representatives from Technology Development, Translational Sciences, Regulatory and Manufacturing. 

We are searching for a driven, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with a strong scientific background who is comfortable multitasking and working independently on various aspects of the program/s.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with program leader to drive the development and maintenance of plans and detailed timelines for early-stage programs from target ideation to IND submission
  • Promote and foster a positive team culture by ensuring collaborative problem-solving, transparency, open communication and efficient decision-making within the teams by implementing Tessera’s decision-making framework (DACI)
  • Provide high-quality program management support by planning strategic and forward-looking agendas, facilitate meetings and communicate key actions/decisions across teams and key stakeholders
  • Ensure efficiency by tracking major deliverables/milestones, develop a risk management plan and maintain a program dashboard to highlight the status of program/s by leveraging tools and best practices from PPAM
  • Be an actively engaged member of the PPAM team. Contribute to standardization and continuous improvement of PPAM tools and best practices.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific discipline with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience ideally in drug discovery and preclinical development and 1-2 years of Project/Program Management experience preferably within a genomic medicine company
  • Demonstrated track record of managing preclinical activities with good attention to detail, preferably including some exposure to regulatory submissions
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills with intellectual curiosity and desire to learn and grow
  • Ability to influence without authority and adapt style to different audiences
  • Ability to adapt to modification and changes in programs, with demonstrated flexibility to implement new tactics to accommodate changes
  • Proficiency in program management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, SmartSheet, Thinkcell, TimelinePro, etc.)
