Job Description Summary

Full-time Staff Physician in the medical clinic within Student Health and Counseling, part of Wellness at the University of Pennsylvania.

Physicians provide direct primary patient care, urgent care, telemedicine and health education to the student population at the University of Pennsylvania.
Candidates must work collaboratively, cooperatively and efficiently with nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians and other clinical staff.

Expertise in Adolescent Health, Gynecological and Reproductive Health, Mental and Emotional Health, LGBTQ health and/or eating concerns strongly preferred.
Candidates must be willing to work a weekly in office schedule including evenings and Saturdays as well as participate in an on-call schedule. During the academic year this is one (1) evening per week and one (1) Saturday per month.

Job Description

  • Provide direct medical care to students; this includes routine physical exams, sick visits, continuity of care, evaluation of injuries, occupational exposures (clinical students) Travel consultations, etc.
  • Manage students with complex health conditions. Refer students to appropriate specialty or hospital care with follow up communications.
  • Participate in weekend and evening shifts, as well as back-up to RN-run after-hours service.
  • Perform administrative tasks including complete records and patient correspondence; participate in performance improvement projects and outreach activities.
  • Opportunities to work gynecologic care and sports medicine on-site sessions.
  • Opportunities for on-site resident and student teaching.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
