About the role
The Director of Broker Channel Sales will be vital in formulating and executing our go-to-market motion focused on referral partners (Benefit Brokers, Accountants) for our Betterment at Work business line. This role will be responsible for new partner acquisition and net new bookings and will oversee a Channel Sales Manager and team of full cycle account executives. The Director of Broker Channel Sales will collaborate closely with the Head of Retirement for our Financial Advisor channel and the Head of Direct Sales.
This role is out of state optional but NYC preferred. Below, we've reflected the base salary range we would offer for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Betterment’s total compensation package for employees.
- New York City: $170,000 - $185,000 + Commission

This job is eligible for variable compensation in the form of a commission bonus. For jobs based out of our NYC HQ, we require in office attendance Tuesday through Thursday, weekly.
A day in the life
- Acquire and drive revenue from new national partners in the Benefit Broker, Accountant, and HR Consultancy verticals
- Evolve value proposition and pitch for the Betterment at Work platform to drive adoption
- Collaborate on partner and deal level opportunities across Direct and Financial Advisor channels to optimize broader business GTM
- Develop and motivate a high-performing team
- Communicate forecasts, pipeline, and key business metrics bi-monthly to executive stakeholders using metric driven process
- Design and implement the Referral Partner Playbook for Benefits Brokers and Accountants (at a minimum), including all software tools, messaging, and outreach methodologies
- Create event strategies, executing them to meet and exceed revenue targets
- Ensure effective and consistent use of Salesforce
- Provide “voice of the partner, client, and industry” to marketing and product management to drive roadmaps
What we’re looking for
- 7+ years of partnership sales experience working in B2B tech/SaaS sales and payroll/HCM or retirement services
- 3+ years of experience and strong expertise working with referral partners
- 3+ years of demonstrated success with leading front-line, quota-carrying team
- Expertise in the latest prospecting tools and methodologies
- Curiosity and interest in financial products and retirement planning
- Demonstrated track record of inspiring and mentoring a high-performance team
- Ability to give and receive feedback - you will collaborate with our sales team to drive process improvements
- Experience with sales technology stacks like Outreach and Salesforce
