Job Overview

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Bureau of Water (BOW), is seeking a highly qualified individual to serves as a Senior Public Service Administrator, Opt 4, Field Operations Section (FOS) Manager in the Southern Regional Office. The ideal candidate for this position will be organized, detailed and possess the ability to adapt to change in a collaborative, fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will also need to be able to communicate effectively verbally, electronically and in writing with both internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as the Unit Manager of the Bureau of Water (BOW), Division of Water Pollution Control (DWPC), Field
    Operations Section (FOS) for the Southern Regional Office:

  • Directs, plans and implements field inspections in accordance with Agency program commitments to and in
    accordance with U.S. EPA regulations:
  • Actively participates in resolving instances of noncompliance with state or federal laws by providing technical
    advice and other forms of compliance assistance:
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of Illinois EPA programs and their relationship to FOS programs:
  • Attends training courses and utilizes training resources to develop and maintain technical skill, water pollution
    control knowledge, and other work-related fields.
