Job Summary: Maintain a safe, orderly, and caring environment while assisting clients with their daily needs; advocate for and work directly with individuals experiencing homelessness with barriers to obtaining housing; provide community resources and referrals to assist and empower single adults experiencing homelessness. This active and fast-paced role includes a lot of walking, close to or more than 10K steps per shift.

Essential Functions:

Provide direct client support:

Attend to client needs, answer questions, resolve problems and escalate to Lead when necessary;
Provide clients with resources and referrals; documenting in HMIS;
Rapport building/positive sense of community, applying crisis intervention and prevention assistance to the Crisis Navigator;
Meet with supervisors across departments to advocate for clients when needed.
Identify and connect with vulnerable individuals residing in shelter:

Triage individuals to different levels of case management support;
Assess client to develop effective housing plan;
Provide resource information, referrals, and direction;
Be readily available to answer questions, follow-up and discuss challenges and progress; provide walk-in assistance.
Conduct ad-hoc sessions with clients to facilitate success in achieving their goals:

Review progress, monitor notes in system from other departments, and obtain additional information to ensure clients are adhering to their case plan;
Assist clients in obtaining forms, completing paperwork, and contacting referrals;
Make complete and accurate notes in HMIS system prior to end of each shift;
Provide success stories as required.


Other Duties:
Build and maintain relationships with campus partners.
Will assist the Facilities staff in maintaining a clean, safe working and living environment for the staff and visitors;
Perform other duties as required.

Work Environment: This job primarily operates in a professional office environment however, occasional off-site venues and outside event areas in various weather conditions are expected. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds unassisted. The employee must be able to self-transfer and move throughout the facilities, between buildings, and around campus at multiple sites. Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze reports and data. Visual acuity and physical ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Shift schedules are set based on agency requirements and client demands, currently running from Sunday-Thursday 8a-7:00pm  

Requirements required:

1) High school diploma or equivalent and one-year of directly related experience.

2) Strong knowledge of resources.

3) MUST Have State of Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

4) Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook; highly accurate data entry skills.

5) CPR-First Aid certification within 90 days of employment.

6) Naloxone (Narcan) training within 90 days of employment.

Preferred

1. Bilingual in English and Spanish.

CPR-First Aid certification is required for your position, but it is not part of your job duties to use CPR and First Aid in your work at CASS. In an emergency, it is your choice whether you want to provide CPR and First Aid, and it is not an expectation or requirement that you do
