Engineer - (UK ) Highways & Roads

<ul><li>You should be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of and experience of UK highway design including road geometry, pavement, signages, and road markings.</li><li>You will be able to use the relevant design software such as Civil 3D, Open Roads, MX, PDS/Key Line and Sign, AutoCAD and ProjectWise.</li><li>Proficient in use of standard office software</li><li>Confidence to seek clarification of instructions and work scope</li><li>Able to liaise as necessary with the UK project team to deliver the schemes/projects</li><li>You will be quick to pick up new ideas and skills, and be able to think laterally to generate new solutions to problems.</li><li>Good written and verbal communication skillsPreparation of Development Drainage Strategies</li></ul><p> </p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p><p>Deliver highway engineering designs and construction drawings for UK-based projects in line with DMRB and relevant UK standards</p><p>Undertake geometric design, including horizontal &amp; vertical alignments, junctions, and corridor modelling</p><p>Design elements such as:</p><ul><li>Road geometry</li><li>Pavement layouts</li><li>Drainage strategies</li><li>Signage &amp; road markings</li></ul><p>Prepare technical drawings, reports, and specifications to a high standard<br/>Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams (drainage, structures, utilities, etc.) to develop integrated design solutions<br/>Liaise with UK project stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality delivery<br/>Manage and deliver multiple projects/work packages simultaneously<br/>Ensure compliance with design standards, QA processes, and Health &amp; Safety policies<br/>Proactively identify risks, constraints, and design challenges, and propose practical solutions<br/>Mentor and guide junior engineers, supporting team capability development</p> <p>Strong experience in UK or any International highway design standards (DMRB, TSRGD, etc.)</p><p>Hands-on experience in:</p><p>Highway geometric design<br/>Junction and corridor design<br/>Pavement and drainage coordination</p><p>Proficiency in design tools such as:</p><p>Civil 3D / OpenRoads / MX / PDS / KeyLINES / AutoCAD<br/>Experience with ProjectWise is desirable<br/>Good understanding of multi-disciplinary coordination and design integration<br/>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision<br/>Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities</p><p>BGV:</p><ul><li><p>Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.</p></li><li>Candidates are advised to ensure that all information provided during the recruitment process — including documents uploaded — is accurate and complete, both to WSP India and its BGV partner”.</li></ul> <p></p> <p>WSP is one of the world's leading professional services consulting firms.
