Job Description
As the Field Medical Strategy & Insights Lead within the Global Medical Affairs (GMA) organization, you will spearhead the development of an overarching strategy for the Global Field Medical Team (MSLs) to support clinical trials site engagement, scientific exchange and insights gathering in support of our Phase 3 programs in Nephrology. This pivotal role will work collaboratively across different internal functions, including clinical operations, clinical development and local country study leads to ensure that insights from the field team are appropriately gathered and actioned. This role will also work closely with other GMA colleagues to ensure the field strategy and insights plan is aligned with overarching GMA strategy for the nephrology organization. This is a highly visible role within the organization where you will lead cross-functional working groups to foster alignment and to ensure that Global Field Medical Strategy and execution is fit for purpose and impactful. As an integral member of the Global Medical Affairs team, you will contribute to the strategic direction of our nephrology portfolio and be a key player in advancing our narrative in the field.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the development of an overarching field medical strategy in support of our Global Phase 3 clinical programs in nephrology.
- Serve as the single point of contact for a Globally distributed contract MSL team as well as strategy lead for MSL employees, to ensure execution of strategy.
- Develop appropriate metrics to measure and ensure effectiveness of field medical strategy and execution.
- Work closely with internal functions to ensure MSL teams are appropriately resources with fit for purpose scientific content.
- Lead cross function team to ensure areas of focus for MSL are aligned with overarching asset strategy and that insights are appropriately shared and actioned.
- Manage external vendors, including reviewing and approving statements of work (SOWs) and invoices.
Who You Are:
You are a seasoned professional with a robust background in medical affairs, specifically field medical affairs. You have led field medical affairs organizations and can demonstrate the impact of developing a robust strategy and ensuring its execution. You are data driven and can leverage data analytics to inform decision making. Communication, both written and verbal, is one of your strong suits, and you excel at project management. You are adept at working cross-functionally and navigating complex regulatory landscapes. You are willing to travel 30-40% of your time to engage with stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- MD, PharmD, or PhD degree in a relevant life science field required.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Medical Affairs required, ideally with a mix of experience in field medical team leadership and a headquarters-based Medical Affairs role.
- Strong understanding of the healthcare ecosystem both in the US and Globally required.
- Exceptional project management abilities required.
- Ability to function independently to progress key projects with minimal direction and oversight required.
- Strong ability to work effectively in a matrix environment required.
- Superior scientific acumen and communication skills required.
Additional Information
The base salary range for this position is $209,000 - $288,000. Base salary offered is determined though an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity. Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.
