Every day, you will support and guide your partners in Commercial (Sales and Marketing), Alliance Management, Regulatory, Legal, IP and Finance as they deal with all aspects of various international royalty transactions. This high-profile position will challenge you to draw upon the full scope of your organizational, business and project management skills to help build a growing function, to solve new problems every day and to serve as the go-to resource to address a variety of royalty and milestones payment matters associated with a rapidly expanding pipeline of product candidates. This is where your strong understanding of how the above-mentioned multiple BioNTech stakeholder functions work together will help you.</p> <p> </p> <p><em>You will be based in Mainz and will report into the Head of Global Business Planning &amp; Analysis.   </em></p> <p> </p> <p>Areas of responsibility will include establishing and managing a global royalty and milestone payments function within BioNTech.<br/> . <br/> The success of this position relies not only on you providing independent input as a global Royalty Manager* who helps gather, hold and obtain updates on the overview of the organization’s royalty and milestone obligations, but also depends on you driving the other BioNTech stakeholder functions that support and provide the needed information to enable global royalty calculations and milestone payments to occur on a recurring quarterly / regular basis. Exemplary stakeholder functions that you will regularly coordinate and interact collaboratively with include IP, Legal, Business Alliances, Finance, Project Management, Regulatory, Commercial (global sales and marketing) and Global Business Planning &amp; Analysis. You will systematically track these function-specific inputs by working together with these stakeholder functions primarily to:</p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Coordinate together with IP, Legal and Business Alliances the evaluation of royalty and milestone payments as well as other financial obligations that could occur out of contracts with collaboration partners</li> <li>Review with the relevant functional IP, Legal and Business Alliances’ colleagues royalty and milestone payment schedules due under applicable agreements</li> <li>Collect and consider the significance of BioNTech product sale locations</li> <li>Confirm applicable patent schedules with licensors under applicable agreements and consider as well as support IP and Legal whether a patent is affected by BioNTech’s activities</li> <li>Focus on / highlight agreement provisions for cross-functional group consideration</li> <li>Attend to anti-stacking provisions and otherwise ensure compliance with transactional obligations affecting current and future products</li> <li>Establish / define the process to review new products against the IP landscape and existing contracts and conduct regular reviews of existing patent / licensing arrangements</li> <li>Determine the appropriate deliverables to BioNTech’s Finance organization</li> <li>Ensure close alignment within BPA to settle royalties and discuss all financial issues</li> <li>Act as the central point of contact for royalty-related information flow (e.g., in the context of financial audits or on changes to previous assessments)</li> <li>Strongly align with Business Alliances to facilitate appropriate licensor discussions</li> <li>Have oversight on applying company positions to ensure consistency (as aligned with Business Alliances, Legal and IP)</li> <li>Support internal and external legal enquiries, including providing historical data, assisting with witness statements and ad hoc analysis / modeling</li> <li>Assist with the implementation of the provisions of new licensing agreements</li> </ul> <p> </p> <h4>What you have to offer.</h4> <ul> <li>University degree in Law or Business Administration, the latter with a strong legal understanding and the ability to read and interpret legal documents</li> <li>Sound understanding of
