Director, Technical Services - IT

Overview (What is this role? What are we looking for?):
The Barber National Institute is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Technical Services to lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-wide technology systems. This role oversees network infrastructure, telecommunications, server environments, and hardware operations across all service lines and locations. The Director will play a key role in IT strategic planning, cybersecurity, and the deployment of innovative technology solutions that support organizational growth and operational excellence.

A typical day-to-day may include (Responsibilities):

• Leading and mentoring the IT technical team in the support and deployment of technology solutions.

• Overseeing network, server, and telecommunications infrastructure across all locations.

• Managing vendor relationships and coordinating technology implementations for new business initiatives.

• Ensuring high levels of customer service and timely issue resolution.

• Developing and maintaining the Enterprise Disaster Recovery Plan and conducting periodic testing.

• Monitoring and enforcing cybersecurity protocols and educating staff on emerging threats.

• Maintaining accurate inventory of hardware and infrastructure components.


• Managing purchasing and budgeting for IT hardware and infrastructure.

• Collaborating with internal and external partners to ensure secure data transmission and cloud services.

• Staying current with industry trends and regulatory requirements.


What you’ll have (Qualifications):

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science/Engineering, or related field with 5 years of prior management experience or;

• Associate’s degree with 10 years of relevant experience.

• Minimum of 5 years of management experience in IT operations.

• Expertise in project management, network systems, and enterprise infrastructure.

• Ability to work collaboratively with leadership and communicate across departments.

• Strong decision-making and business acumen.
