SUMMARY

This position exists to assist with the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, Landside Operations Employee Parking and Customer Service section in providing customer service resolutions and help with researching parking issues and discrepancies. The person in this role will also work on special projects and assist with the activation and deactivation of employee parking cards. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment. The work requires initiative, time management, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, database systems, and excellent communication. Work is evaluated based on customer feedback, observation, and work product. This is A paid opportunity, for students pursuing a degree, to earn relevant work experience within a chosen career. Works full time (40/hr week) and eligible for City benefits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Helps in providing customer service and administrative support to the Landside Operations Section of the Airport Operations Division and the CLT Employee Parking and Customer Service Program.
  • Assist in researching customer service issues for Employee Parking, Bus Operations, Parking and Online Booking. Enter and update information in the CLT Employee Parking Database.
  • Assign, activate, track and de-activate Employee Parking Access Credential (PAC) Cards and hangtags. Provides courteous and helpful service to internal and external customers in person, in writing and over the phone. 
  • Completes special projects and performs directed research.
  • Performs data entry, completes reports, and maintains records.
  • Research, maintain, and distribute compiled data for various reports, records, and documents. Files, faxes, copies, and compiles documents. 
  • Support other Airport Operations Sections by performing assistance duties for irregular and emergency operations such as crowd control, fire watches, escorts, and other duties deemed necessary for continuity of operations.
  • Work on public areas to assist with wayfinding, crown control and answer customer questions other duties, as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Current enrollment in an accredited college or university leading towards a bachelor's degree with major course work in a related field of study specific to the departmental and/or work assignment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor or Master student at an accredited college or university.
