The Philosophy Department at the University of Louisville invites applications for an Assistant Professor Term. Initial contract is for one year, but multi-year contracts are possible upon renewal. Teaching responsibilities include both undergraduate and graduate courses; normally eight classes per academic year, but no more than 2 preparations per semester, and class sizes typically between 30 and 45. Starting salary $50,000. Summer and winter teaching may typically be undertaken for additional pay. Candidates should be willing, with department support, to meet the department’s commitment to integrate the contributions of nonwhite and non-male philosophers, and non-Eurocentric philosophical traditions, into every course.

All requirements for the Ph.D. in Philosophy should be completed by September 15, 2025. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of a work visa for this position.
