Purpose

This position will be supporting the Computer Science Office of External Affairs team by facilitating catering/vendor coordination and being the point of contact, initiating requests for AV support, set-up and breakdown of events, and various event logistics. Ensure event success and provide feedback to OEA staff. Will work under the direction of the Program Manager of Industry Relations.

Responsibilities

  • Meeting with OEA staff, managing timeline up-to-event, room reservations, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Creating and routing OOEFs, and other event and administrative duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High school graduation or GED Three years of clerical experience. Excellent communication skills. Detail-oriented. Selected candidate must be able to work hours noted under Work Shift.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience at UT or other institutions. Administrative and event skills for a complex unit requiring the use of initiative and judgment. Collects and compiles information accurately. Determine work priorities and schedules. Coordinates the exchange of information with others.

Hourly Rate

$20.00 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

  • Attire: Business Casual

  • Standard Office Environment, Use of manual dexterity, Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation, Lifting, pushing, or pulling, Standing

Work Shift

  • Hours per week - 19

  • Please note the work hours are from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

  • The position will be in-person and supporting recruiting events for the Department of Computer Science, which will require availability from 3 PM- 8 PM up to 3 evenings per week
