Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer to join the Data Technology Engineering team, which is responsible for building a systems-of-record (SOR) modernization initiative. This initiative has the potential to impact the entire firm's growth trajectory and align the system for readiness and scale. This position involves collaboration with Business Partners, Architects, Quality Assurance, Release Management, and the Change Control board to plan, design, develop, and implement solutions for the business needs. The data engineering team is responsible for providing high-quality data to its consumers at scale, and the candidate is expected to have hands-on experience working with a motivated team in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on coding and well-versed with generative code-assist IDEs (like copilot, cursor, etc) leads an inspired a dedicated team of onshore and offshore developers to architect, build, deploy, and support best-in-class software solutions for internal and external customers.
- Leverage technical expertise and the latest tech stack to implement software development best practices. Implement application resiliency, scalability, and performance design.
- Collaborate across business units, technology, and product teams to build and deliver business value.
- Work actively with quality assurance engineer teams, Release Management, DevOps to ensure all SDLC processes are adhered to.
- Develop technical documentation to define the system components and workflows.
- Oversee and participate in day-to-day activities of POD using Agile/Scrum methodology.

Requirements:
Minimum of 8 years of professional software development experience in building API’s and Services within AWS using Python, SQL, and native services.
Minimum of 5 years of software development experience with AWS platform - Glue, EKS, S3, NoSQL datastores, Postgres, Apache Iceberg, API Gateway & Kafka
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in SQL procedures, views, indexes, and performance tuning.
Minimum of 5 years of expertise with Source Control such as GIT, Bitbucket, or TFS. CI/CD experience with TeamCity/Octopus/Jenkins/Jules.
Minimum of 3 years of working with Docker and Kubernetes.
Core Competencies:
Minimum of 3 years of financial services/brokerage firm experience, preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge in designing, refactoring, and unit testing
Experience with Waterfall and Agile development processes
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field
Technical Competencies:
Python, AWS, SQL, & data pipeline development experience
AWS Certification for a developer and/or Solution Architect associate.
Excellent knowledge of OOP concepts, data modeling, design patterns/frameworks
Pay Range:
