About the role

Job Description:

The Office of Residential Life supports the academic mission of the University by creating safe and inclusive educational residential environments that promote student learning and holistic development. As an active contributor within the Office of Residential Life, the ACUHO-I Graduate Coordinator works closely with colleagues in Residential Life to actively support the achievement of these goals in the development and coordination of student staff Community Coordinator (CC) Training, plus supporting aspects of Residential Life Operations in connection to Summer Conference Programs, as needed.

ACUHO-I Graduate Coordinator will gain valuable professional development, including exposure to theories of student learning and experience with residential programs, student staff training design, and logistics, and work in a higher education setting. There is a high level of teamwork and collaboration across the University with active supervision and guidance provided to facilitate learning during this internship experience. Night and weekend work is required. This is a
temporary placement from June 1 to August 11, 2025, appropriately 10 weeks, reporting to one of the Directors of Residential Life (First Year Experience & Houses, Program, Theme, and Greek Houses, Upper Division, or Residential Operations). Compensation includes a $600 weekly stipend. This description reflects the assignment of essential functions, and it does not encompass all the tasks that may be assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Currently enrolled as a graduate student in an accredited graduate program.

  • Experience in residential education or similar student organizations is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse staff and student body and evidence of cultural competence and inclusiveness.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.

  • Demonstrated ability to creatively and efficiently problem solve - utilizing sound judgment, assuming ownership of a problem, and resolving it collaboratively.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills.

  • Must be able to work the entire timeframe of the contract.

Other Information

  • The person in this position needs to frequently move about inside the office and throughout the residence halls.

  • The person in this position needs to frequently communicate/exchange accurate information with students who have inquiries about their residential experience - including housing needs, bills, and appropriate referrals.

  • The person in this position must frequently detect, determine, perceive, assess, and synthesize information.

  • The person in this position needs to work occasionally in outdoor weather conditions.
