The Senior Data Engineer Designs, builds, and maintains data processing architectures and solutions enabling the efficient conversion of structured and unstructured data to insights at enterprise scale. The Senior Data Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Senior Data Engineer ingests data from internal and external sources utilizing cloud native platforms and software development best practices and patterns. Develops software tools that leverage artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big-data techniques to cleanse, organize, and transform data into insights and actions that enables us to better serve our customers. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT or equivalent and relevant experience in lieu of degree.

  • 5 or more years' experience as a senior developer in large IT projects

  • Data Engineering experience implementing data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses to support large-scale data processing and analytics Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools (i.e. Apache Airflow, Talend, Informatica), Big Data Tools (i.e. Apache Hadoop, Spark), Stream Processing (i.e. Kafka, AWS Kinesis, Azure Event Hubs, Apache Beam) and Data Orchestration tools

  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture and serverless computing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in cloud technologies (i.e. AWS Certified Big Data, Azure Data Engineer Associate, GCP Data Engineer)

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

  • Familiarity with GraphQL schema design and implementation

  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Prior project lead experience

Work-At-Home Requirements

  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.  

  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$104,800 - $144,300 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
