About the role

Summary of Responsibilities:

 

This position reports to one manager in R&AE Green Harvesting group.  The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties that encompass the research and design of machine technology, smart solutions, automation, autonomy, and mechanical components. These tasks will span the entire development process, from the initial concept phase through to the handover to stakeholders, across a variety of green harvesting products and projects. The position involves collaboration with colleagues from different AGCO locations and product groups. This includes working with the Fendt tractor team based in Marktoberdorf, Germany, and EFG Teams. The role is set in a small team environment, which emphasizes the importance of teamwork and mutual assistance among team members to manage team tasks and projects effectively.

 

Summary of Duties:

  • Research & Development: Conduct research to uncover new opportunities for product innovation and product solutions. Lead the charge in developing effective, farmer focused green harvesting products.
  • Product Design: Employ engineering expertise to develop products, detailed designs and specifications with software programming and CAD tools. Design of closed-loop control systems.
  • Testing and Validation: Field and virtual testing to validate concept thru final designs to ensure they meet required specifications, performance standards and effectiveness.
  • Team Collaboration: Engage in dynamic teamwork with various departments throughout the product development cycle, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and consumer expectations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Guarantee that all product designs adhere to the latest industry regulations, standards, and safety protocols.
  • Technical Communication: Compile and deliver comprehensive technical reports and presentations, effectively communicating complex information to stakeholders.
  • Innovative Problem-Solving: Tackle product challenges by devising creative solutions to intricate issues, enhancing product functionality and user experience.
  • Professional Development: Stay at the forefront of engineering and scientific advancements to fuel ongoing innovation within the company.
  • Intellectual Property Management: Spearheaded the patent application process to secure the intellectual property rights of novel products and technologies.
  • Collaborative Testing: Partner with test lab(s) to refine and implement robust testing procedures.
  • Prototyping: Coordinate with proto shop to manage and release shop orders for part builds.
  • Workplace Excellence: Foster a culture of cleanliness and safety, maintaining an organized work and shop environment in collaboration with the team.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural, electrical, computer science, mechanical or similar engineering.

 

Experience:

 

 

  • Agricultural: background in agriculture, enhancing comprehension of farm equipment functionality. Proficiency with hay tools is highly regarded.
  • Mechanical Design: design of mechanical components including Hydraulic System Design, drives design, basic structural design, and simple fabrication skills.
  • Electrical Systems: constructing 12V
