HybridThis position is for an Electrical Design Engineer II. The position will support electronic control system development programs for aerospace products. This role is responsible for solving complex design challenges and becoming proficient in various designs and design processes in the electrical design discipline. This individual will be a key technical contributor in the design, development, and support of electronic control products within the Collins Aerospace Power & Controls product line.
This position is a hybrid role located in Windsor Locks, CT. This position is eligible for relocation. ~10% travel required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- This engineer will solve design challenges and participate as part of a cross functional team of engineers.
- The engineer will work on projects ranging from new product development, existing product sustainment, production support, and field investigations.
- Responsible to perform development program design activities including design concept, part selection, circuit schematics, circuit analysis and design reviews.
- Responsible to support circuit printed wiring board (PWB) layout and routing.
- Responsible for design verification test activities including verification test plans and procedures, test readiness reviews, test execution in the lab, data review and test reports.
- Responsible to support unit level environmental qualification test efforts for EMI and other environments such as temperature, altitude, humidity, etc.
- Contributes to program planning efforts with schedules and budgets.
Qualifications/ Experience Needed:
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- A strong designer with prior exposure to analog and digital circuit design and analysis, complex logic devices.
- Prior experience with electronic circuit testing methodologies, and hardware / software integration.
- System hardware / software integration test experience using LABVIEW or Test Stand
- Clear and effective communication and teamwork skills in a cross-discipline work environment interacting with design engineers, project leads, lab personnel, program managers and customers.
