Landis+Gyr is seeking a Summer Intern starting in May 2025 through the beginning of August 2025 working fulltime hours on-site Monday through Friday at our Alpharetta, GA office. This is a paid position but we don't offer a housing stipend or relocation assistance so local candidates are preferred. Applicants should be undergraduate level students who by May will have completed their Freshman, Sophomore or Junior year towards their Bachelors degree.  Masters level students will not be considered.

 

 

 

Project Overview/Job Description: 

 

Interesting opportunity for Software Development enthusiasts with an added bonus to get an introduction into the energy domain. The project will involve working on real world software projects, fixing code quality issues by enhancing and adding new unit tests to existing code in a Microsoft Stack environment.
 
In addition to learning software development and quality fundamentals, the intern will also have an opportunity to learn multiple technologies, including C#, Visual Studio, SQL, Oracle, REST APIs, Kafka, Microservices, MS Azure DevOps, Angular, Java.
 
To demonstrate the skills learned, the interns will be able to demonstrate quality improvements they implemented using Code Coverage reports, SonarQube reports, and defects fixed using MS Azure DevOps dashboards.

 

 


Student Objectives/Responsibilities:

•    Fixing and enhancing code unit tests under guidance of an experienced Senior Software Engineer
•    Working with hardware and testing software.
•    Monitoring the Jenkins builds and analyzing unit tests failures.
•    Analyzing SonarQube reports and creating defects in ADO for fixing issues reported by the tools.
•    Upgrading existing NuGet package tests to .Net Core
•    Updating MS Azure DevOps defects fixed as part of the project.

•    Interest in Software development
•    Self-motivated to learn new technology.
•    Enthusiastic about online research and problem solving.

 

 


Education/Experience:
A student working towards their Bachelors degree in Computer, Electrical, or Software Engineering.
