We’re looking for an experienced Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to support our customers and join our passionate team of high-impact problem solvers.
About the role:
As a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer (Network Security Service Chain Engineer) at Raft, you will be at the forefront of defining and implementing robust network security practices for our Air Force clients. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring that our network traffic adheres to the highest standards of security, compliance with DoD, DISA, and Air Force policies, and fosters a secure digital environment. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will help shape the future of network security in a dynamic and innovative organization.
- Work closely with Air Force teams to craft stringent network traffic security policies and controls in alignment with DoD, DISA, and Air Force standards
- Define the IT services essential for executing these policies, encompassing Data Loss Protection, Advanced Persistent Threat detection, Intrusion Prevention, Firewalls, SSL Orchestrator, Cross-Domain Solutions, and more
- Identify various network traffic flow use cases to accommodate diverse security scenarios
- Specify vendor-agnostic capabilities required for Air Force security service chain, ensuring they comply with policies and standards
- Assess whether capabilities should be deployed in-line or in promiscuous mode, tailored to each use case
- Create comprehensive standards documentation using Microsoft Word, covering all use cases
- Collaborate with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and security teams for regular reviews and check-ins, ensuring adherence to high-security standards. Finalize standards through approval by the Technical Architecture Council (TAC)
What we are looking for:
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in network security engineering, policy development, and compliance within complex, enterprise-level environments
- Proficiency in network security technologies and tools, an understanding of DoD, DISA, and Air Force security policies and standards, and prior experience with Data Loss Protection, Intrusion Prevention, Firewalls, SSL Orchestrator, and Cross-Domain Solutions
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to convey technical concepts and collaborate effectively with multifunctional teams
- Sharp problem-solving and analytical abilities to evaluate intricate network security requirements
- Proficiency in cloud security practices, with hands-on experience in securing cloud-based infrastructure and services, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Familiarity with Kubernetes (K8s) security best practices, ensuring secure orchestration and containerization of applications
- Experience in edge computing security concepts and technologies, safeguarding data and processes at the network's edge
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, a Master's degree is a plus
- Obtain CompTIA Security+ or other DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification within the first 90 days of employment with Raft
Highly preferred:
- Experience within a government or military environment
- Understanding of network security standardization and policymaking
- Knowledge of emerging network security trends and technologies
- Relevant certifications in network security such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or equivalent
Clearance Requirements:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

- May require up to 10% travel
Salary Range:
- $110,000 - $180,000
- The determination of compensation is predicated upon a candidate's comprehensive experience, demonstrated skill, and proven abilities
