Equitable is looking for a Disbursement Underwriter. Reporting to the Inforce Processing Team, the Disbursement Underwriter is responsible for reviewing and approving disbursement ACH requests.
As a Disbursement Underwriter, you'll play an important role in helping us protect our customers and our business. In this position, you'll review disbursement requests to ensure they're accurate, legitimate, and meet our policies, so funds are released safely and responsibly.
Your work helps prevent fraud and reduce risk, while also supporting a smooth and positive experience for our customers. You'll use strong attention to detail and sound judgment to make informed decisions, balancing careful risk management with timely processing.

What You'll Be Doing
The Disbursement Underwriter uses the following steps to validate a client account:
This position offers a remote work schedule that allows you to stay fully engaged with your team to provide outstanding, customer - focused service during our core hours (8:30 AM-5:30 PM EST). Periodic office visits may be requested based on business needs.
The base salary range for this position is $48,000 - $52,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

What You'll Be Doing
The Disbursement Underwriter uses the following steps to validate a client account:
- Utilize the DRP tool, which allows you to see debit and credit history in any site including HM, SOC, NOC & LPL
- Review AWD to confirm if money was ever sent to/received from the account
- Confirm in AWD if we received a contribution check from requested account
- Validate original Medallion Signature Guarantee, if available
- Call rep of record to confirm they personally spoke with the client in person or over phone regarding request
- Call client using the phone number on the application
- A check is mailed to the client's address if the account cannot be verified

What You Will Bring
Required Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- 1 years of experience in customer service or fraud prevention
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to assess risk and make sound decisions
- Experience reviewing financial transactions or policy related transactions
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
- Ability to escalate potential fraud concerns when appropriate
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or higher
