The Defense Systems Group (DSG) provides analysis-based decision support to senior leaders on space architectures, policy and strategy, developmental planning, system of systems engineering, and threat reduction to help shape future space missions across the national security space enterprise. DSG is unique at Aerospace as it not only directly supports major customers, including, the United States Space Force, the Department of the Air Force, the Missile Defense Agency, U.S. Space Command, U.S. Strategic Command, Air Force Materiel Command, and senior leadership at the Pentagon, but also provides a broad range of services and support across the national space enterprise, maintaining vertical responsibilities with customers but also horizontal, matrixed responsibilities across the corporation.
As part of the Space Security Directorate, the Multi-Domain Sensing Office provides high-quality analytical and program management support to the USSF’s Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC), advising the Government, and leading analyses on the future Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Targeting (ISRT) capabilities balancing design, performance, and resilience to win the next war.
This position will support the United States Space Force (USSF) Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC) by providing systems engineering and architecture analysis support to efforts developing ground systems for command and control (C2) and tasking, collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination (TCPED) of multi-phenomenology ISR products. The successful applicant will be working with government customers to define and document concepts of employment and operations as well as architecture designs for Kill Chain related and TCPED systems that support both intelligence community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) users.
This position requires 100% onsite work in classified facilities in our Chantilly, VA facility.
What You’ll Be Doing
Provide leadership and technical support to the Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC). This fast-paced organization is developing the next generation of capabilities to provide space effects to the joint warfighter and operate in a highly contested operational environment. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively in a multi-level classification environment with interagency, military, and civilian communities in the planning, conduct and interpretation of analysis to shape force designs including serving as the technical lead for SWAC ISRT future mission architectures.
- Advise the SWAC’s Government leadership on technical and analytical approaches, force design, systems engineering and development of future ground C2 and TCPED systems for IC and DoD customers.
- Develop analytic plans and define analytic tasks needed to understand ISR mission needs and refine force designs.
- Help modernize ground systems and architectures for the future space enterprise.
- Identify Aerospace resources and expertise that can be brought to bear on tough customer problems.
- Provide periodic execution reviews to Aerospace and customer senior management.
- Provide frequent communication to government counterparts about Aerospace Engineering and Technology Group (ETG) support.
- Collaborate with other Aerospace personnel across all corporate locations and organizations.
- Direct interaction with various government partner organizations including US Space Force (USSF), Space Systems Center (SSC), Space Development Agency (SDA), Intelligence Community, US Space Command (USSC) and other Combatant Commands.
This position is available as a Project Lead or a Senior Project Leader.
What You Need to be Successful for a Project Leader
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or related technical field from a recognized institution.
- 8 or more years of progressively more responsible technical experience in ISR system operations, systems engineering, or developing, analyzing ISR and/or TCPED systems. <
