Sr. Software Engineer

Job Information

The Sr. Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and testing components of the powerplant Remote Monitoring System (RMS). Responsibilities include code generation, code review, holding design reviews, debugging, and product support.

Role & Responsibility

• Experience with edge computing devices, gateways, routers, and server hardware

• Successful candidate will also be capable of leading software design tasks and performing design verification

• Ability to design unit tests for software components and modules

• When issues arise candidate must be able to diagnose, conduct root cause analysis, issue corrective actions, and implement fixes

Job Requirements

Knowledge:

• Python:  Desktop application development with cx_freeze/pyinstaller for windows installations

• Amazon Web Services: API Gateway + Lambda, IoT Core + Rules Engine

• Devops Skills: Git, Powershell

• Django/Flask Web and REST API development

• NodeJS:  REST APIs, Desktop Applications

• Windows Operating System, Windows Service Architecture

• Amazon Web Services:  RDS, Aroura Serverless

• Databases:  MySQL DB or similar (postgreSQL, oracle, etc); AWS Athena (or similar: Presto/Hadoop)

• Devops: CI/CD tools, Automation Scripts (Chef, ansible)

Education

• BA/BS degree with 4-7+ years of experience

• MA/MS degree with 2-5+ years of experience

• PhD degree with 0-2+ years of experience

• Degree in Computer Science Engineering or similar discipline preferred
