Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development
We seek a strong engineer to join our team, which is focused on building and maintaining a scalable software control platform for Compute Infrastructure. The systems you build will be used by both external and internal customers and will present some of the highest visibility APIs within OCI.
Major focus areas of software maintained by the team include:
- Creating and maintaining highly available APIs for launching and managing Compute resources.
- Designing and implementing highly scalable systems capable of functioning across numerous regions in a worldwide cloud footprint.
- Security-first design and deep integration with the OCI Identity and Access Management (IAM) framework.
You and your team members will be called upon to solve many diverse scaling, security, efficiency, and automation problems through robust architectural decisions and customer-first design. You will deliver the solutions that directly contribute to the success of our customers. Both external and internal customers will use the systems you build.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in defining and evolving standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with developing, designing, and debugging software applications or operating systems. You will be responsible for being self-maintaining, following AGILE methodology for dev task tracking & source control, and mentoring other engineers on the team.
You will also need to have the following skills to be successful in this role:
- 5+ years Jave Development experience
- Proficient in shell scripting
- Capable writing tools with a language such as Python
- Familiarity with traditional network services and protocols: DNS, DHCP, SNMP, LDAP, SSH, SMTP, HTTP, TLS/SSL, etc
- Strong knowledge of Linux resource management
- Proficient in Linux monitoring and troubleshooting
- Capable of fault, crash dump, packet capture analysis
- Familiarity interacting with SOA, Web Services, Microservices, etc
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- 6+ years of systems administration within large-scale server environments
- 5+ years managing host virtualization technologies (KVM, K8s, Containers, Docker, etc)

US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
