TOMRA Recycling designs and manufactures sensor-based sorting technologies for the global recycling and waste management industry to transform resource recovery and create value in waste. The company was the first to develop advanced waste and metals sorting applications use high capacity near infrared (NIR) technology to extract the most value from resources and keep materials in a loop of use and reuse. To date, more than 8,200 systems have been installed in 80 countries worldwide.

Job Description

Reporting to the EVP, Head of Recycling, the SVP, Head of TOMRA Recycling Sorting will lead a full value chain functional team consisting of Technology/R&D (driving innovation and all new product development), Operations, Sales & Marketing, Service, Customer Project Management and Strategy. People & Organisation and Finance is also part of the team. Total number of employees is about six hundred. The Sales organisation is global and organised in regions. In addition to its own direct selling workforce, TOMRA Recycling Sorting also use distributors and agents in certain markets. The business is project oriented, and projects vary in size from a few 100s of thousands EUR to several millions of EUR. There are three main objectives for TOMRA Recycling Sorting; capture the growth opportunity, maintain high margins, and transform into a best in class driven business operational efficiency. The overarching theme is to take TOMRA Recycling Sorting to 2.0, and by that we mean introducing best-in-class processes across all functions and working as one integrated organisation. TOMRA is a highly purpose driven organisation, and the workforce is passionate with high engagement. The culture is also down to earth, collaborative and consensus orientated with strong values.

The role is based in Koblenz with international travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent leadership skills on an executive level.
• Strong entrepreneurial spirit and proven experience of delivering growth and financial results while building a team oriented inclusive culture focusing on performance and candor.
• A strategic mind, adept to address ambiguity and maneuvering in uncharted waters.
• Proven track record in providing thought leadership for external and internal stakeholders to influence industrial Eco systems.
• A strong communicator with business orientation and ability to work effectively with external stakeholders and business leaders.
• Solid experience in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement in a concerted way across all parts of the value chain based on Lean thinking and methodology.
• Proven customer relations management and commercial negotiations skills
• Proven project execution experience in an international context is a plus,
• Personal experience from working and living in other cultures is highly valued
• Hold a Master’s degree in Engineering/MBA or similar.
• Fluency in English is required with additional language skills, e.g., German, being considered a plus.
