Overview

This position provides thought leadership and execution of Mastercard's Open Banking public cloud strategy. Role will include financial oversight of all cloud expenditures, technical leadership over executing the cloud strategy for the current set of M&As in the Open Banking space. Driving multiple cloud offerings towards Mastercard standards, overseeing the execution of a single global platform, and aligning operational practices of cloud infrastructure build, application management, fault tolerance and availability will be key deliverables.

The Role
• Partner with engineering peers to drive cloud platform delivery in an automated, consistent fashion, ensuring capability availability, and conformance to standards.
• Standardize on best practices for cloud platforms, meeting the engineering principles while exceeding the current Mastercard cloud capabilities.
• Engage with business partners to create, maintain, and operate platforms in locations necessary to meet business needs.
• Own operational metrics, driving ever higher levels of availability and stability.
Major Accountabilities
• Drive standardization of cloud practices across the Open Banking M&As.
• Work with accountable parties within Mastercard to align technology deliverables in support of Open Banking business priorities.
• Lower operational costs of cloud instances through targeted technology practices which align best in class services with optimal maintainability.
• Increase platform availability.
• Create a set of subject matter experts on operating M&A cloud platforms, operationalize those SMEs to expand Mastercard's wider cloud capabilities in line with established engineering principles.

All About You
• Proven background in hands-on software development, architecture, and database administration
• Direct experience in architecting large-scale, high-volume platforms with ability to tune for performance.
• Extensive commercial cloud experience with a proven background in seeding and scaling up enterprise solutions.
• Ability to double-click on diagnostics and assist team on issue resolution and performance improvement.
• Ability to set strategic vision for the platform architecture and operations approach.
• Ability to communicate with executive management to articulate progress against the vision with extensive usage of KPIs to evidence status.
• Experience integrating commercial platforms from M&As.
• Highly developed people leadership experience; evidence of developing high performing teams with a strong focus on individual and team development; Ability to forge a positive team culture.
