About the role

As the Senior Vice President, Controlling, you will drive EFG’s global Controlling strategy ensuring timely and accurate results for the company for internal and external reporting. As a key member of the Finance leadership team, you will act as a business partner and financial advisor to the CFO. This role instills a culture of strong internal controls across the company and is responsible for compliance with our technical accounting standards and all financial controls, policies, and procedures.

Reporting to our CFO, the SVP Controlling will lead the Controlling department to deliver results by setting and achieving high ethical, quality, and control standards for all financial reporting and related work product. You will serve as a strategic partner to EFG senior leadership and be actively responsible for driving and executing EFG’s financial objectives.

Requirements

• Lead, direct, coach, develop, and engage a global controlling team to achieve performance goals
• Define Controlling strategy globally including definition of plans, targets, processes, and budgets considering EFG objectives, guidelines and standards, accounting principles and regulations.
• Oversee delivery Controlling initiatives and activities to achieve financial transparency, to control EFG financial assets, and to provide complete and accurate financial information and records (actuals, forecast, budget reporting)
• Define and direct critical Controlling activities, initiatives, and subjects across EFG with significant impact on overall results and/or significant business risk potential.
• Lead the creation of budgets for all major EFG projects.
• Drive development and implementation of Controlling systems and processes that align with EFG vision and objectives and work across multiple business areas or across region/countries.
• Set direction, lead development, implementation, and adherence to accounting policies, programs, and systems
• Oversee EFG planning cycles covering budgeting, forecasting and mid-term planning and implementation of management accounting practices such as performance management criteria including costing & profitability measures.
• Influence wider EFG financial strategy and consult top management of the EFG on evaluation of ongoing and future business activities with regard to profitability and financial risk.
• Identify financial risks for the EFG and provide timely advise to ensure risk management and early warning.
• Present findings and recommendations to the top executive EFG/Board including audit reports and financial analyst reports, profit and loss and balance sheets, and regulatory filings.
• Deliver innovation that influences the way the EFG operates and its profitability.
• Analyze complex issues extensively, introduce and steer innovations and improvements in existing Controlling processes, systems, techniques and methods for enhanced effectiveness and efficiency.
• Influence critical stakeholders to reach an agreement or where parties are skeptical or unwilling to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches.
