The Role
The Manager, Production Finance, Central and Eastern Europe will be instrumental in creating and implementing the goals and strategy of the EMEA Production Finance team across a large slate of original programming.
These include:
i) providing valuable financial insight and guidance to best protect and control Netflix’s investments
ii) managing the financial life-cycle of productions from Development through Delivery
iii) providing comprehensive and current market intelligence
iv) providing innovative financial solutions to facilitate smarter decision-making. Both internally within the content/production team, and externally with our productions and partners.
The Responsibilities:
External
Work effectively and decisively within the Netflix team to manage third party production companies who are producing Netflix local content.
Familiarity with evaluating the potential cost of a pitch and working together with studio stakeholders to set the right budget for a project.
Oversee timely and comprehensive budgeting and cost reporting throughout the life-cycle of a production to ensure proper financial management.
Ability to completely analyse a production budget from overall spend to individual rates.
Manage cash flow, forecasting, and funding processes.
Implementation of best practices of financial control and cash management for our partners.
Track and advise on any applicable production incentives and tax receivables
Travel to grow market intelligence and keep informed of current industry trends
Research or have knowledge of local production capacity (stages, vendors, equipment, crewbase)
Understanding of financial landscape in key markets (banking, accounting, compliance, etc)
Internal
Closely align with Production, Business and Legal Affairs, and Content teams to manage cost controls and production processes. Knowledge and familiarity with each of these functions and workflows is important.
Work with finance support teams including Compliance, Public Policy, Labor, Tax, FP&A and Content Accounting to collaboratively apply expertise towards the business.
Oversee the internal financial reporting for the CEE slate
Build and manage our external relationships with Administrators/Production Accountants.
Advise on how to grow production accounting in the market via training and outreach.
As requested, travel to Netflix offices to stay current on company and team strategy
Be an advocate of the Netflix Culture
Experience/Qualifications
7+ years in-house financial executive experience or freelance work on productions
University degree in accounting or finance preferred.
Fluency in English & Polish language is strongly preferred.
Role to be based in Warsaw, Poland
Knowledge
Strong understanding of all of the financial elements needed to bring an original production to life. An ideal candidate needs to be familiar with everything included in a production budget.
