Sr. Application Engineer Electrics / Electronics

Job Information

Position summary:

Responsible for design, sizing and specification of components and sub-systems of Bobcat machines in general. Also, he is responsible for creation and execution of validation plan of sub-systems in NPD projects with ultimate goal to meet performance and reliability targets, while keeping project schedule, cost and quality under control.

Role & Responsibility

 Design
•    Delivering designs in area of mechanical engineering of assigned products within the NPD project phase 
•    System architecture
•    Concept design & initial calculations
•    System development plan : schedule, budget
•    System validation plan and test requests
•    Follow up on simulation, lab testing & field test
•    Component requirements documents compilation
•    Development follow up at supplier
•    Risk analysis and system DFMEA lead
•    Ensure adequation between the design and the manufacturing requirements
•    Attend crossfuctional team discussion
•    Understanding of Bobcat design standards and apply when it is required
•    Supervise and assess design engineer´s outputs:
o    3D, 2D, Schematics, stack up, packaging    •    Meet design targets
•    Meet planning targets
•    Meet cost targets
•    Meet quality targets
•    Meet reliability targets

Validation 

 •    Presentation of related design direction, risks, validation plans & results and issue solving analysis during Global project design reviews
•    Involved in prototype assembly phase to check and correct design accordingly
•    Involved in supplier technical exchanges    •    Peers design approval
•    Meet design targets
 

Support  

•    Support and expertise given inside and outside engineering (other product design functions, marketing, aftermarket, manufacturing, quality, production) 
•    Provide support for test proving ground, laboratory testing and help with troubeshouting    •    Willigness to help 
•    Keep focus on priorities
 

Innovation  

•    Proposal to improve quality of engineering team deliverables
•    Develop tools and processes to improve risk management, machine quality and cost    •    New developments
•    Continuous improvement
 

Job Requirement

Education & Qualification:

•    Mechanical Engineering degree 
•    Experience in mechanical engineering for mobile applications (automotive, off-road)
•    Experience Necessary:  > 5 years

Knowledge & Skill:

•    Mechanical engineering in mobile applications
•    CAD skills (Creo Preferred)
•    Working knowledge of systems – specifically bills of material structure and organization of models and options
•    Precision/care in auto control of his work
•    Knowledge of engineering practices and standards    •    Good IT skills (3d-CREO, CAE, MS Office, …)
•    Communication and leadership skills
•    Strong analytical and problem solving skills
•    English: good communication and technical level (English work environment)
