Job Title:
Behavioral Health Quality Manager

Reports To:
AVP, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science

Position Summary:
The Behavioral Health Quality Manager ensures behavioral health programs meet high standards of patient safety, regulatory compliance, and quality of care. Reporting to the AVP of Behavioral Health, this role leads regulatory readiness, performance measurement, quality and process improvement, incident management, and patient experience initiatives. The manager partners with leadership, clinical teams, and quality/risk staff to identify risks, implement corrective actions, and foster a culture of continuous learning and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with OMH, OASAS, OPWDD, NYS Justice Center, CMS, TJC, and other applicable regulations, lead survey and audit preparedness.

  • Oversee collection, analysis, and reporting of quality and performance metrics; identify trends to drive improvement.

  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and safety.

  • Manage incident reporting lifecycle: investigation, root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and trend monitoring.

  • Collaborate with staff and leadership to enhance patient experience and support staff development in quality and safety practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Health Administration, Social Work, Psychology, or related field; Master’s preferred.

  • 2-4+ years in quality management, performance improvement, or regulatory compliance in behavioral health or healthcare settings.

  • Knowledge of OMH, OASAS, OPWDD, NYS Justice Center, CMS, TJC requirements.

  • Experience with incident management, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA) and benchmarking tools preferred.

  • Supervisory experience a plus.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $118,000
