Description
POSITION PURPOSE
This position delivers freshly prepped food from our Central Kitchen in Salt Lake City to various Costa Vida Restaurants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow Assigned Route: Complete assigned routes to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
- Communication: Address any issues or concerns that arise to management.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and company policies, by attending regular safety briefings and training.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to restaurant management.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of routes, and delivery confirmations, as well as any incidents or issues that occur during transport.
- Problem Solving: Quickly address and resolve any logistical challenges or unexpected issues that may arise during the delivery process.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including warehouse and customer service, to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Unload Merchandise: Oversee unloading and organizing delivered to restaurant locations.
- Food Safety: Follow all HAACP Guidelines while transporting and delivery of goods.
- Sanitation Practices: Keep company vehicles clean at all times.
Requirements
WORKING REQUIREMENTS/CONDITIONS
- Education/Certification:
- Highschool Diploma or Equivalent.
- Valid Drivers License.
- Valid CDL
- Food Handler Permit
- Experience Required:
- Proven experience in transportation coordination.
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Skills/Abilities: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (up to 100 lbs)
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
- Finger dexterity: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
- Talking: Especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Hearing: Drivers should have adequate hearing to respond to alarms, signals, and the sounds of traffic.
- Vision: Good eyesight is crucial. Drivers often need to meet specific vision standards, which may include the ability to see well at various distances and in different lighting condition
- Physical Strength: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (up to 100 lbs). Depending on the vehicle, drivers may need to lift or maneuver equipment, packages, or tools.
- Coordination: Good hand-eye coordination is essential for operating the vehicle and navigating roadways safely.
- Stamina: Long hours on the road can require physical endurance and the ability to maintain focus.
- Mobility: Drivers should be able to comfortably enter and exit the vehicle and manage any necessary physical tasks.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Environment: Capable of driving for a long period of time. Ability to load and unload merchandise.

- Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization.
- Able to interpret various instructions.
- Mental Alertness: Maintaining alertness and quick reflexes is crucial for safe driving.
- Mathematics Ability: Ability to perform basic math skills.
- Language Ability:
- Ability to read a variety of books, magazines, instruction manuals, atlases, and encyclopedias.
- Ability to prepare memos, and reports using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
- Ability to communicate distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphasis; correct pronunciation (or sign equivalent); and variation in word order using present, perfect, and future tenses.
