About the role:
In this role you will provide legal support relating to employment law and employment law compliance, supporting all businesses, operations and functions within BSC.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Work with employment law team and BSC functions (including Human Resources (HR) Operations, Total Rewards, Facilities, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Sourcing, and Contracting) to ensure compliance with employment law requirements.
- Work with employment law team and external legal research tools to develop and maintain processes for tracking employment law requirements.
- Review legislative updates provided by external counsel and resources and distribute relevant updates to employment law team.
- Contract Administration: Work with attorneys, Contract Lifecycle Management and HR to draft and revise agreements, including separation agreements and employment agreement mutual releases.
- Coordinate post-employment obligation communications with HR: obtain signed Agreements Concerning Employment, obtain restricted account lists, prepare reminder letters to departing employees.
- Manage LegalEG inbox and coordinate responses.
- Support the Reduction in Force (RIF) process, including:
- Send bi-weekly files to Payroll, formated to the Payroll template.
- Verify receipt of signed releases, verify amounts to be paid, and update Payroll.
- Maintain the RIF tracker and database.
- Prepare and send release documents using AdobeSign.
- Track and record Central Review Team pre-employment decisions.
- Run and provide reports relating to systems and processes.
- Provide overall administrative support (expenses, travel arrangements, etc.) to the department as needed.
Requires qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency with AdobeSign and Microsoft Office Suite and demonstrated ability to become proficient in new systems and processes.
