Job Description:

Position Summary: 

The purpose of this position is to administer the recruiting function for all associates positions, facilitate associate relations, support wage and benefits administration, facility training/organization develop for the facility, support/plan associate program and company events, and produce plant communications for local associates based on plant/regional/corporate direction.  

 

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills): 

  • 4-year degree in Human Recourses, Business or Psychology 

  • 5-10 years of HR Generalist experience  

  • High proficiency in Excel, Word and Powerpoint 

  • Provide support and training to managers in the interpretation and use of HR policies, processes, and programs 

  • Detail oriented with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Ability to support organizational change through communication and change management  

  • Ability to make procedural and moderately complex decisions, and exercise good judgement on sensitive/confidential issues 

  • Assist in resolving moderately complex employee relations matters 

  • Support and lead various HR projects as needed 

 

Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience and Skills) 

  • PHR/SPHR Certification 

  • Workday experience is an asset 

  • Background in manufacturing, preferably automotive 

 

Essential to Job Functions – Physical and/or Mental Restrictions: 

  • Ability to work for extended periods of time while sitting 

  • Standing, walking and bending for the duration of the workday 

  • Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen 

 

Software: 

  • Windows, MSWord, Excel, and PowerPoint 

  • Advanced experience with Windows, MSWord, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred  

  • Intermediate experience with payroll software (Workday, ADP) preferred 

 

 Production and Location Start-up Duties: 

  • Work within small team to develop new manufacturing location and new processes to support smooth mass production start-up of EV products 

  • Support hiring requirements for the project and plant requirements 

  • Facilitate communication between Astemo and plant-in-plant company based on both corporate communication plans 

  • Communicate employment information such as pay and benefits for potential transfer associates 

 

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and to adjust actions in relation to others’ actions 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify complex problems & review related information to develop and evaluate options & implement solutions  

  • Ability to maintain a high level of flexibility and be able to adapt to changing requirements and priorities 

  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and personnel information systems 

  • Knowledge of Astemo organization, locations, products and positions 

  • Effective time and project management skills and maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail 

  • Utilization of active listening & effective written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with people at various levels (both internal and external) in a multicultural, multinational environment 

  • Ability to promote and exemplify the “Astemo Philosophy” and maintain a clean and orderly work environment in accordance with “6S.” 

  • Make sound business decisions, exercise good judgment, and maintain high level of motivation 

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations within areas of responsibility  

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  

  • No supervision 

 

Work Environment – Travel, Noise, Smells, Quiet, Indoors or Outdoors, etc. 

  • Some travel may be required trips 

  • Exposure to factory setting with noise 

  • Open-Office Setting
