    Job Description

    The Sr. Director, Building Services & Solutions will be responsible for technology strategy, program delivery, and application operational support for the Facilities, Physical Security, and Real Estate organizations within the NBCUniversal Operations & Technology division.

    The candidate will be the primary business solutions leader and strategic partner as well as be a proactive change agent for their aligned technology and applications. There is a requirement for strong integration with multiple global business partners ensuring effective communication, risk management, issue mitigation, app rationalization, multi-year strategic planning and roadmap alignment.

    The candidate will own the delivery of IT solutions which includes discovery, scope, defining project phases and budget for initial build & on-going support, vendor selection and working with Product, Engineering and Architecture peer groups. This role is also responsible to establish and manage the support team for on-going post go-live support & solution improvements.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Partner with Global Facilities, Physical Security and Real Estate leaders to identify technology needs and develop strategies, inclusive of process analysis, internal IT assessments, competitor benchmarking, and industry technology offerings.
    • Manage delivery of programs across all key stakeholders in conjunction with Product, Engineering and Architecture groups as well as third-party vendors where applicable.
    • Conduct app rationalization exercises to drive a global unified application platform strategy providing consistent IT experiences and capabilities across all NBCU locations and teams.
    • Closely manage communications and expectations across all groups.
    • Establish productive relationships with CIO and CTO teams and serve as liaison for delivery of solutions and services to the end users.
    • Collaborate with the Workplace Operations and Engineering teams aligned to global Facilities and Real Estate customers to maximize end-user capabilities and incident response service levels.
    • Provide strategic oversight on delivery of application and infrastructure services that directly impact day-to-day activities for internal departments and their customers.
    • Provide hands-on direction and leadership in analyzing and resolving operational challenges to the entire portfolio
    • Act as a change agent by anticipating technology opportunities, proposing viable solutions, and enabling process/technical innovation.
    • Partner with departmental teams to document processes/workflows, identify technology requirements/enhancements, track issues, prioritize/schedule deliverables, and validate implementations.
    • Lead project management, business analysis, and application testing activities for assigned technology initiatives; and drive project execution by consistently working across relevant application, infrastructure, external vendor, and business teams.
    • Research new technologies, evaluate usefulness for the business, determine compatibility with NBCUniversal infrastructure, assess compliance with NBCUniversal policies, and develop integration strategies.
    • Manage work efforts of project team members, hold recurring meetings to review progress/deliverables, and provide regular written/verbal status updates to management.
    • Participate in budgeting and proposal efforts by completing project scoping, cost-benefit analyses, and level of effort assessments.

    Qualifications

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 15+  years’ experience within media entertainment industry supporting long-term and/or transformative projects and solutions
    • 15+ years’ experience managing projects with both vendor-managed and non-vendor-managed solutions and third-party team resources
    • Ability to work within a complex and matrixed organization
    • Collaborative team player accustomed to working within and across groups
    • Organized and detail-oriented with ability to manage own work as well as track the activities of others
    • Ability to manage through competing/conflicting requests and obtain consensus
    • Ability to overcome obstacles and develop resolutions to complex problems
    • Ability to translate business process needs into clear technical requirements
