PSA Graphic Designer II (Customer Information)

Basic Function
Supports METRO’s Customer Information division with graphic design and layouts for a variety of traditional and digital communication channels. Development and maintenance of signage, wayfinding and other customer information as needed. Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procedures.
Responsibilities and Specific Duties
- This is a temporary PSA job assignment not to exceed six (6) months in duration.
- Develops visually engaging, user-friendly creative for various external audiences across multiple platforms to achieve the authority’s ridership goals.
- Develops and maintains all customer information and signage to assist riders in the use of METRO’s services.
- Prepares mockups and artwork in various traditional and digital formats for optimal output and display.
- Creates, designs, illustrates, and prepares collateral for traditional (print) and digital campaigns for multiple communication channels.
- Maintains organized project files and consistently applies design archives, naming conventions, and font standards.
- Follows and implements METRO brand guidelines on all design elements.
- Creates maps and public information for distribution to new and current riders.
- Provides excellent customer service to METRO internal and external customers.
- Applies SMS methods and principles in their daily routine and supports all aspects of the agency’s Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP).
- Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Pay Range: $32.69/hour - $42.93/hour
Education Requirement
Associate degree in Graphic Communications, Art, Design, Marketing, Advertising or related field is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Years & Experience Required
Minimum five (5) years graphic design experience including executing graphic projects and coordination of all production scheduling to completion and experience with printing processes.
Knowledge & Skills Required
In-depth knowledge of Macintosh, Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Creative Cloud including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Advanced knowledge of printers and printing processes. Advanced typography skills, graphic design and layout skills. Strong communications (written and verbal) skills.
