As part of an ambitious agenda within deep digital growth technologies, Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering is opening several associate professor and tenure track assistant professor positions within Electrical Engineering. The growing electrification of all sectors, with added intelligence on all product and systems levels, is pushing novel technologies aggressively forward. They all require enhanced processing power and efficiency. Therefore, many of the sub-domains within Electrical Engineering, like advanced computing benefitting from novel chip designs, sensors and embedded intelligent systems as well as next generation communications are all potential core research pillars for us. We already today benefit from a strong support and interest for this agenda from the industry, and the institute is currently experiencing a rapid increase in both educational, research and innovation activities in the field. We aim to accelerate that even further. The new positions will help establish the research direction and secure and grow international competitiveness within one or more of these specialized subdomains.

As associate professor or tenure track assistant professor at the Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering you will be a part of the team that will expand and deepen our growing and ambitious Electrical Engineering domain. In this position, you will:
- Evolve or participate in dynamic research groups working in areas of disruptive breakthroughs with tremendous potential and societal relevance.
- Be part of expanding the research and educational environment of the campus in either Odense or Sønderborg.
- Participate in multidisciplinary research.
- Participate in collaborations with the wider university, national and international research partners as well as industrial partners.
- Contribute to the further development of the existing electrical engineering programs at the highest level for bachelor and master-level students.
- Guide and inspire PhD-fellows and Post Docs.
- Participate in research groups with members at all academic levels.
- Join a harmonious workplace environment that is conducive to productivity, promotes creativity, and rewards and recognizes individuals and group achievement.
- Contribute to driving innovation in close collaboration with industry and the local society.
- An associate professorship position is a tenured/permanent position.
- An appointment as assistant professor lasts for three years, and contingent on successful completion of a lecturer training programme and a positive performance evaluation, a permanent position for associate professor is normally opened, for which the assistant professor can apply.

Associate professors and tenure track assistant professors will be building up research and educational activities within their electrical engineering subtopic. Examples of relevant subtopics are:
- Semiconductor Devices & Microelectronics (advanced CMOS, 3D ICs, heterogeneous integration, cryogenic CMOS)
- Intelligent Systems & Edge Computing (Hardware acceleration for AI, neuromorphic computing, Spiking Neural Networks)
- Power & Energy Systems (renewable energy integration, power electronics, smart grids, grid code, harmonics mitigation)
- Advanced Signal Processing & Communications (wireless networks, 6G, optical and quantum communication, IoT architecture, RADAR technology, modern antenna designs)
- Sensors and Embedded & Cyber-Physical Systems (real-time actuation, robotic hardware/software architectures, and real-time onboard processing for autonomous systems)
- Experimental Power electronics (converter technology, converter build up, multi-level converter)
- Electronic packaging and integrated electronics
- Passive components and energy storage (capacitors, Batteries, Magnetic components/Transformer)
- Health technology (body scanners, chip design for sample analysis, body sensor networks, ultrasonic analytics)
