As a Communications Manager Vice President, supporting the Corporate Responsibility you will be responsible for working closely with executives across Corporate Responsibility and the firm, as well as external stakeholders, to develop and execute public affairs and communications strategies that advance awareness of and engagement with the firm’s contributions to the community and towards healthy economic growth. You will lead strategic communications for the firmwide Community Development impact pillar, which spans the firm’s philanthropic commitments, business practices and policy priorities. The portfolio demands significant stakeholder management expertise, both within a large institution and with external business and social impact partners. In addition you will set and execute communications strategies that leverage earned, owned and paid channels, as well as lead executive communications, events, and new creative storytelling initiatives.

 

Job responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead high impact public affairs and communications strategies to advance short and long term business and impact goals.
  • Create and lead compelling narratives that support the Department’s priorities, elevate key principals, and position the firm as a credible, authentic thought leader.
  • Identify and lead key announcements and events, in partnership with external organizations and across lines of business.
  • Draft public affairs communications and materials, including but not limited to press releases, messaging, media pitches, social media content, speeches, presentations, and executive briefings.
  • Deliver consistent, regular and targeted messages about the firm’s commitments and impact to key audiences including community, government and business leaders.
  • Work with colleagues in CR and across the firm, including Corporate Impact Marketing and Lines of Business communications partners, to create “always on” communications to reach key audiences through tactics such as toolkit design, stakeholder messages, newsletter, video production and report development, online content and data visualization. 
  • Partner with the Corporate Impact Marketing team to provide strategic direction for our local and national Corporate Responsibility marketing efforts.
  • Oversee measurement and reporting of performance of these communications plans, performance and recommend/implement improvements.

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in public affairs, marketing and communications
  • Significant communications and management experience in the private sector on issues related to economic growth and inclusivity, with public policy and government relations advocacy, and/or philanthropy and foundations
  • Track record of effective storytelling and managing compelling public affairs and communications campaigns with measurable results
  • Experience advising and interacting with executive-level management and senior leadership
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with internal and external partners and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong project management experience, including managing teams and work across departments within a matrixed organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; sound judgment and strong collaborative decision-making skills
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Flexibility to manage constantly changing priorities and timelines
