Position Overview

 

The SD Functional Specialist will collaborate with key business resources, system implementor and AMS provider in providing functional expertise for the SAP SD module.

The main responsibilities for the role will include but will not be limited to designing SD solutions, configuring systems during project implementations, simplifying and improving business processes, creating new business cases, identifying and documenting requirements, supporting SD processes and SD integrations.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

 

• Works closely with the business units across all CRH divisions, using SAP S/4 HANA to best configure and support their business processes.
• Evaluates business processes and identifies opportunities for improvements and savings. Prepares cost-benefit analyses to support all improvements and opportunities.
• Leads SD and TM related project activities and coordinates with other team members to deliver on business requirements.
• Provides leadership, direction, and issue resolutions to end-user community regarding SD/TM business processes, data, enhancements, and interfaces.
• Provides solutions, directions, and options for new business requirements.
• Provides guidance, understanding, and recommendations to the business user-community in the SAP SD/TM area.
• Follows IT standards, documentation, development methodologies as related to support and development activities.
• Executes project activities related to SD function ensuring quality and on-time delivery.
• Proactively anticipates project deviations and escalates the need for immediate corrective action.
• Acts as the gatekeeper of the SAP template for the SD functional area and ensures that project teams are adhering to the standards established.
• Maintains documentation library for design, configuration and training material related to SD processes.
• Assists with performing integration, unit and user acceptance testing, including preparation of test cases and writing test scripts for SD processes.
• Supports security design and maintenance as required, including oversight of approvals for finance, ensuring they meet organizational standards.
• Supports integrations with Point of Sales systems, credit and tax solutions.
• Investigates, analyzes and escalated support issues from business teams.
• Supports cross functional priorities.
• Prepares weekly SD project activity statuses.
• Leads ongoing reviews of business processes and develops optimization strategies.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

 

Work Experience:  10 years of experience as SAP SD and TM Functional Consultant

Education:  Bachelor's/University Degree or equivalent experience

Preferred field of study:  Business Administration or Information Technology

Other Training/Certifications Required:  SAP Certification in SD and TM modules is highly desired.

Additional Education Preferred: PMP

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

 

• 10+ years of SAP SD experience and SD integrations, preferable in the materials or construction industry
• In-depth knowledge and extensive hands-on experience on configuring and supporting SAP SD and TM modules and SAP SD interfaces.
• In-depth understanding of the integration between SD, FI, MM and PP is essential.
• Strong business process knowledge in SD and TM modules.
• Knowledge of Vertex or other Tax solutions that integrate with SAP.
• Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on an existing suite of complex applications.
• 3-5 full lifecycle implementation projects as a SD/TM functional/configuration team member.
• Be able to independently solve complex functional issues.
• Experienced with utilizing OSS and submitting support messages to SAP.
• Experience with SAP Data Migration and Interfaces
• Experience working with Cross-Functional Teams (SD/MM/PM/PP/FI) to develop functional and technical designs.
• Experience in managing customer expectations and building relationships.
