Summary
The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State-Operated Specialty Care, Bureau of State Training School (STS) is seeking an Accounting Clerk 2 to join our team! This is a full-time position with HHS.
The primary responsibilities of the Accounting Clerk 2 are to perform accounting, banking, and record keeping of student funds and other non-appropriated accounts and serve as receptionist for the Business Office. This includes but is not limited to:
- Document all funds received and make deposits.
- Identify students who may be eligible for Social Security benefits and apply for the State Training School to be the representative payee for those students.
- Issue checks as needed for student expenses and other non-appropriated purchases.
- Maintain documentation of all invoices and receipts for expenditures.
- Maintain equipment and tool inventories for the facility, including Fixed Asset inventory, vocational tools and equipment, and maintenance tools and equipment.
- Submit monthly reimbursement claims for the school meal/snack program and submit financial dietary reports to the Department of Education, as required.
- Order supplies for the Business Office, complete state vehicle reports, fill in for the Superintendent’s secretary in their absence, and attend and participate in all annual mandatory trainings.
