Position Summary

This role will be an integral team member of the Accounting team, reporting to the Director, International & General Accounting.  Performing journal entries, reconciliations, analytics, and reporting to management. Success in this role requires strong teamwork and collaborative skills to work and communicate across functional teams such as Financial Planning & Analysis, Shared Services (Accounts Receivable, Payable and Payroll), Procurement, Reporting and Financial Systems. An independent self-starter with strong attention to details and the ability to understand transaction workflows are key to success. Experience with foreign currency would be very beneficial. Seeking a candidate who enjoys process improvements, embraces, and leads through change. Requires an individual who is adaptable, as the work will evolve as we transfer through this journey with a new revenue recognition tool.  We also went live with a new billing system this past year as well as a new ERP system in the prior year.  This role will own the process to coordinate and work directly with third party partners with foreign entities, mapping the data, loading data to the ERP, and reconciling between statutory and GAAP requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support process for monthly accrued and deferred revenue journal entries and supporting account reconciliations in accordance with the monthly close schedule.
  • Support processes for monthly revenue metrics, roll-forwards and analysis explaining revenue results, globally and across geographical theaters.
  • Support processes for recognizing revenue per guidance of ASC 606 for new product offerings and current product offerings.
  • A key responsibility will be calculating bad debt reserve and sales credit reserve across the companies.
  • Prepare journal entries and provide supporting documentation during the close, such as calculating, validating, and recording accruals and expenses, re-classes and adjustments.
  • Analyze monthly variances for balance sheet and cost centers, and effectively communicate results to management.
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts. Ensure reconciling items are properly documented, resolved in a timely manner, and adjustments are prepared.
  • Prepare and distribute a large invoice review report weekly.
  • Collaborate and partner with other teams to address issues and process improvement.
  • Communicate regularly with operational business partners to identify issues and areas of improvement and share knowledge.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with occasional work schedule flexibility to work with others in different time zones.
  • Understand the local and statutory requirements that may impact the accounting for cash across the regions. 
  • Work with team members to test and implement new work streams with system upgrades & changes.  
  • Prepare audit schedules as requested, including the support documentation. Provide project coordination and oversight for specific portions of audits.   This involves support for both GAAP audit and statutory audits.
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Essential Education, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • 5 years professional accounting experience
  • CPA beneficial
  • High regard for confidential information and sound professional judgement.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
